How to Change iPhone Ringtone

iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 has a lot of hidden shortcut and functionalities which cannot achieve through the phone itself because Apple is forcing users to use iTunes, as a multi-purpose software for Apple fans. However, you can change iPhone’s ringtone to a song or music.

How to create ringtones for iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4

Creating ringtones for your iPhone is a bit tricky. It cannot be done through the phone itself and you need to open iTunes to achieve that. To make a new ringtone follow the instructions below.

Open iTunes

Right-click on the song (in iTunes music library) that you want to make a ringtone and select “Get Info”.

Click on the "option'' tab

Type the “Start Time” and “End Time” of your desire song track to make it as a ringtone. Once you click “OK” button, the song is edited. You can play it in iTunes until you have satisfy to make it as ringtone

Drag the song that you have just edited to your Desktop.

Change the song file extension at your Desktop from .m4a to .m4r

Now, drag it back to your iTunes. It will automatically add the song to your Ringtones Library folder in iTunes. 

Finish. Sync your iPhone with your iTunes and you will see a “Custom” section under ringtonesselection on your iPhone. This section will keep all your newly created ringtones. (Note: if your phone language is English, you need to make sure the ringtone title is English also. Otherwise, it will not show on your iPhone)

Tips

  • * Remember to change the song’s(in Music Library) start and end playing time back to original after you have make a ringtone.
